Identify the ports on your Mac - Apple Support
New MacBook Air models use Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports with USB-C connectors.

Assuming you got a new device that has a USBC port rather than the older USB port, you can get a USBC<>USBC adapter.
Provide some system details and we may be able to provide a more specific recommendation.
Hello Bob. Thanks for reply.
My new device mac OS Mojave has a different port than the usual USB port.
Pl. can you explain what to do an adapter or a new cord?
I will be using both devices for a shorter time.
Really hoping someone can explain: I seem to be a little lost. I didn't know that new Apple devices have different ports. The new MacBook Air - OS Mojave has a different port from the USB port on my older device. How do I best solve this ?
Hi, and thanks. I am however not getting an answer to my problem. I know which port to insert a cord but where do I get the cord that fits to the computer port is my question. Someone pointed out that I should get an adapter?
What are you connecting to that port?
