What is a WPA2 password?

My new iMac 24 will not recognize the xFinity password that all my other Apple products recognize. An error message asks for a WPA@ password that is not the password recognized by my other apple products.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

WPA2 a wireless security level. You can choose which level(s) you want in the router's settings.

The wireless password would the same one your other devices are using for the Xfinity router.
