Change airdrop to go to photos instead of downloads

After the last update my pictures and video's go to downloads folder. Before they went to my photo app where I could find and manipulate where they go and how to get them easily into imovie.

How do I get them to go directly into photos directly?

Hello Apple-no,

Thanks for asking about AirDrop.

There doesn't seem to be an option to change those settings:

Change AirDrop & Handoff settings on Mac - Apple Support

Use AirDrop on your Mac to send files to devices near you - Apple Support

Verify the Apple ID on both, as if it's different, you should get an option to save the file, but if they are the same Apple ID, it should go to Photos by default.

Thanks.
