App icons on Ventura 13.0
I keep trying to paste an image to make it the icon for an app but the paste option is greyed out. I just upgraded to Ventura 13.0, could this be a part of the issue and if so how do I fix it?

I have two SSDs an a flash drive i use custom icons for in Ventura. You can see the original icon, and after dragghing the PNG to the Info pane, it changes to the new icon.
Some tips. PNGs work best for custom icons. They need to be square (256 X 256 for example). And CMD+C - CMD+V doesn't work anymore. I was totally frustrated by the process, till I learned that. Simply dragging the icon does it.
If the icon has been previously changed, it may cause problems. My flash drive needs to be erased before I can change the icon to something else.
Otherwise, it may be a permissions thing.
Open the Get Info for file or app you want to change the icon for. Click the icon in that window so it's highlighted. Drag the image you want to use onto the highlighted icon. It should change just like that.
Hi, thank you for your answer but I've tried that many times and it doesn't allow me to paste. I believe it may have something to do with the strict file access permissions that came with the update
