All the photos from my Mac have disappeared. What do I do?
I transferred some 4K photos from my iPhone to my Mac. A few days later, all the photos disappeared. I do not use iCloud. Never have. how do I recover them?

I transferred the photos through iTunes, I think. Yes, I saw them on the Mac as I was sorting and foldering them into albums. They were there for 2 days. I switch off the Mac and the next day when I turned it back on, they were gone. The folders are still there, just empty.
You'll need to give us more details. How did you transfer them? Did you see them on your Mac after you had done this? Where? things like that
Are you sure iCloud is not enabled. Sometimes a MacOS update will turn it on. Do you run a regular automatic backup (such as time machine)?
Have you looked in "recently deleted" in photos?
