iPhone 14 Pro 2022 cant send pictures via MMS or to any android

ever since updating our phones to the 14 series and ios 16 we are unable to send images to Android users.

MMS is on, SMS is on, Cellular and roaming are all on. I noticed that some screenshot can be sent but not pictures taken... is it possible the images are too big? wouldn't the mms message compress before sending?

You are told wrong. If it was an Apple software problem how did most of the users in this thread (and others) solve it by contacting their carrier? It is a carrier problem. Is your carrier Verizon? When you activate an iPhone 14 on Verizon their automated system does not set up MMS correctly. To fix it you need to call Verizon tech support (611 on your phone), tell the nice representative who answers that you need to speak to a senior tech to fix a problem with the provisioning of MMS on your account. This is a universal problem with the iPhone 14 provisioning by Verizon, so the tech should know how to fix it. And hopefully the 1st tier reps will eventually learn also.

SOLVED after trying EVERYTHING with both Apple and Verizon. I finally got a rep who had fixed this same problem for someone else the day before.

From Verizon: To recap, you contacted us about the picture messaging issue. We re-added the feature, synced it with network and resolved the issue.

So yes, Verizon has to do some toggling and re-syncing on THEIR end! I suggest using their chat window.

Apple can’t fix a problem with your carrier, who presumably is Verizon. When you activate an iPhone 14 on Verizon their automated system does not set up MMS correctly. Okay, like the rest of you, I just spent an hour on the phone with Apple and then Verizon -- thank God the apple rep came on the Verizon call. First, yes, the answer is to have Verizon resynch the MMS feature. She did it, it worked immediately. I have a new iphone 14 pro, it would text but not MMS (no images to non-iphone phones, no group texts). This solved it. And, yes, the only way I could get the verizon person to listen was to demand to speak to a senior tech support person, that person immediately knew what I was talking about. So, thank you all.

This always worked with all my previous iPhones, but stopped working when I upgraded to an iPhone 14 - when I used the transfer service to move all my existing settings from my old iPhone to my new one.

since this worked with all my previous iPhones, but not my iPhone 14, you are saying that all the carriers have purposely coded to prevent sending or receiving jpg’s only with iPhone 14’s….

Are you serious?

As you jumped in without reading the thread, here is a summary of the situation:

Verizon is our carrier & we recently purchased 2 new iPhones, a 14 & 14 pro & had the same problem (not being able to send photos, msgs w/emojis or texts longer than 5 lines).

I followed the advice here & contacted Verizon via chat thru the app. I copy & pasted info into the chat from several of the folks who posted here how their issue was resolved (Verizon doing something with the MMS & Verizon also doing a re-syncing on their end).

All I had to do was to follow what the agent texted me to do, when they wanted me to do it. They had me turn off my Wi-Fi, & then turn off my phone while the agent re-synced, & then I turned my phone back on.

It literally it took all of of 6 minutes to fix what has been driving me insane for the past month.

Thank you to all who contributed to solving this! 🎉

Hey all,

Adding two cents. I had the same issue and worked with Verizon Tech. During the journey, I realized that my VPN was creating the issue. When the VPN is on, I cannot send pictures to android users. When I turn the VPN off, no problems, pictures were sent, and the recipient (android user) confirmed getting the pictures. So, if you are using a VPN, I would suggest that.

Verizon did reset a few things, as mentioned in this thread, but if you are using a VPN, I suggest toggling off the VPN and trying to send pictures first. It may save you 85 minutes with Verizon reps. :-)

Just wanted to add to this since I have the iPhone 14 that had this issue and had another new iPhone 13 that did not. Call your carriers support team and try nothing else you see online. Save yourself the time add frustration. Sadly I went to a Verizon store first just to have an employee there tell me it’s an android issue which it’s not. I moved from Samsung to iPhone recently. I was told by multiple store workers that there is no fix. I reiterated that I have the same phone, both brand new, that was not having this issue so that conclusion was incorrect.

If you have Verizon then please call support to save you the time and headache and avoid trying all the steps multiple websites are providing online.

They tried to re-sync text which did not fix my issue like it has for many others. Still, make sure they take this step regardless because I believe this would have fixed it if I had the latest system update pushed before hand.

I had to push through the newest Apple system update and after my phone cycled through that, I tried sending a pic to an android and it failed, but after allowing it another minute after failure, I tried again and it went through and my issue has been fixed. FINALLY!

Work with your carrier. It’s NOT an Apple or Android issue. Don’t listen to, ‘oh well you are out of luck, there’s no fix!” because there is a fix. May take a couple steps but your carriers support team can absolutely fix this for you.

BAM just like that! Follow the advice here within. CALL VERIZON *611 , SAY SPEAK TO A CUSTOMER SERVICE REP TO THE BOT, ONCE CONNECTED TO A LIVE PERSON ASK THEM TO KINDLY CONNECT YOU TO A SENIOR TECHNICIAN (the first line folks don't have the tools to reprovision your MMS syncing issue), THERE YOU WILL GET THE HELP YOU NEED. You will most likely need to turn off your phone. I did not have another available line and they called me right back. Happy Happy Joy Joy
