Audio Hijack found in Settings

I found a listing for Audio Hijack in the Settings app:

Settings>General>Login Items

It is listed as a background app. I've never installed Audio Hijack and the only third-party audio app installed is the seemingly benign SomaFM radio app.

Any thoughts?

I contacted the good folks at Rogue Amoeba. Many of their apps use a component known as Audio Capture Engine (ACE). This item is also licensed to a number of third-party apps.

With MacOS Ventura, the settings app sometimes mislabels this component as the full Audio Hijack app - no harm done.

At some point, an application installed on my Mac would need ACE to function properly - not sure which one, though.

Anyway, it is harmless and I will leave it alone.
