Storage Paradox

I have an old iPad mini I think it's 2011. I have almost nothing on it and it's saying the storage is full. When I look under storage and add up what different things that are using storage it's nowhere near what it says it's using. I've got almost no content no videos no music no photos--nada. Only answers I can get online lead to "call Apple support. " Any ideas?

Mac mini, OS X 10.11

If you can connect the iPad to a Mac or PC, you might be able to find out more about it's storage.

How to check the storage on your iPhone and iPad - Apple Support

Eg:

Scroll down this Apple support article (link above) to:

"Use the Finder or iTunes to check the storage on your iOS device"

Eg: You may find cached files are taking up space.

(You can read more about cached files: under "About cached files in "Other")
