Two iphones, iMesage notification issues

I have an iPhone 13 pro max for my personal phone and an iPhone 12 for my work phone. I have both phones set up on a single icloud account. I'm not receiving iMessage notifications on my personal phone, but they are coming through to my work phone. If I unlock my screen I can see the little red dot on my iMessages but the notifications are not coming through to my lock screen (I have the notifications set up to show in lock screen).

Could this issue be related to having two iphones on one icloud account? How can I fix it (I keep missing messages from friends and family).

Thanks

Hello MrsAFG,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. Our recommendation is to verify that you do not have your notifications for the Messages app in silence with the use of Focus. If this feature is on, it will prevent the notifications for iMessage to not appear on your personal iPhone. Here's are the steps on how to verify that:

1. Go to Settings  > Focus, then choose a Focus—for example, Do Not Disturb, Personal, Sleep, or Work.

2. Tap Apps (or tap Choose Apps), then do one of the following:
Allow specific apps: Tap Allow Notifications From, tap the Add Apps button, then select apps.
Silence specific apps: Tap Silence Notifications From, tap the Add Apps button, then select apps.

This information is outlined in this helpful article and can help: Allow or silence notifications for a Focus on iPhone

Please let us know if that helps.

Best regards.
