Evoluent Mouse Driver Concerns
Hello @apple. I hope someone can shed some light on a concern. I own an Evoluent mouse and its not the first one I have had. Several years ago I was able to install the software (to configure the buttons) and noticed that I required a lot more permissions that it should have. It appeared to require sudo privs but I am not sure why or if that statement is "accurate." I do remember thinking that I was not comfortable and I switched to a different brand.
Push comes to shove its the most comfortable mouse on the market and my hands hurt enough now that I switched back.
There is a note on their website that appears to confirm my suspicion but would like someone from @apple to weight in here. Is there a reason why you will not help them with their driver integration issues?
Is there a concern about the driver or a reason why you will not support them? As a developer that has worked with the Apple before (senior engineer on Apple Wallet development) I understand how tightly you regulate your ecosystem.
Is there a security issue? I would like you to weigh in before I attempt to reinstall the drivers. I would love full functionality but will reluctantly use as-is unless someone HELPS please. Why the silence?
