Hey man I’m literally going through the same thing done trouble shoot with apple spoke to bank than back to apple none of them know what to do it’s a big circle and it’s so frustrating. If your problem has been resolved I would love for you to share with me too since mine has been ongoing since 8 months now

I have the same issue. Contacted the bank 3 different times and they have NO idea why it the card won't link. They have contacted their higher ups with NO success.... Did all of apples try these steps several times and with an Apple representative on the phone ...and they say call bank. Big circle of nothing that is still not resolved.. Very frustrating!

Hi there! I have just solved the same problem and want to share the solution with you!


Shortly, try to delete all the cards from Wallet, then from iCloud memory, leaving no traces in your acount. Then leave it for few hours o let all the databases sync and try adding problem card again without adding other cards.


Warning! After this, some of your elder cards can face the same problem, cards conflict each other. You can't add all of them, but you can replace one with another.


In details:

In different countries the bank system have different terminology and, for example, in Israel there are card issuing companies separate from banks and payment systems. I have two cards from different banks and the same issuing company. This company appeared to be responsible for confirmation to Apple Pay system. The issuing company checks not only card number, date, name and CVV, but also another info that the company know about the card. And for each card order at banks I used different documents (due to my personal business). This ended up in situation that I have two cards from different banks and single ussuer registered to different documents. For some reason (bug, I suppose), the issuing company expects all the cards registered in Apple Pay being connceted to the same combination of documents, phone, name etc. And when one of my cards is registered in Apple Pay, the another one fails the check of the issuing company causing iPhone to tell me "Card Not Added".

Hey bro just an update … I tried to add the card on my uncles phone it straight away went to verification but I didn’t verify it yet but it does seem to work there … it has to do something my Apple ID because straight after that I checked to do it on my phone I got the same error it’s not the banks fault or visa or Mastercard fault it’s something with apple.

I logged out of my Apple ID on the phone and did a factory reset, erasing everything. Also be sure IOS is up to date. But try calling your bank first to be sure your card is not blocked. It worked for one of my cards. I don't know about the second card because I had already asked the bank to send a replacement card with a new number.

I'm having the same problem. I think it's clueless people at the banks and elsewhere. They need to look deeper into the problem. There are multiple layers of security and flags that come up. I even got a replacement card from the bank with a new card number and it still won't go in? I'm beginning to think it's related to my phone. Like Visa is blocking any Apple Pay registration from my phone because I've tried putting in a new card multiple times.

Follow these steps:

    1. "Check that you're able to use Apple Pay:
    1. Check for services outages or connection issues.
    2. If you see the message "Could Not Add Card" or "Invalid Card," contact your bank or card issuer.

Apple does not approve or decline cards for use with Apple Pay. If your card was declined, contact your bank or card issuer.

If you need help adding a card, learn how to set up Apple Pay."

I couldn’t have said it better I even ordered a replacement card three times . Both apple and the bank are clueless but the thing is it’s not working for every card I try to add . Nothing even goes to verification. They even told me to speak to visa and Mastercard they are clueless too

Interestingly, after signing out of my Apple ID and completely erasing the phone, I was able to add a card to my mobile wallet. Not sure what the issue was, or if that was even the issue. Will have to wait to add the second card because I asked the bank to send me a new card. Not sure why some of my cards would have a problem and not others if it was a software issue?
