First please confirm your intent to update iOS using your Mac, and not directly on the iPhone which is the usual method.

If that is what you intend, a comprehensive answer requires knowing which macOS version you are using. If it really is OS X 10.10 as shown in your profile information, you need to use iTunes: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes - Apple Support.

If it is a more recent version (macOS 10.15 "Catalina" or later), read Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with the Finder - Apple Support.
