M1 14" macbook black screen and will not start up

Hello,

Does anyone have any idea why my M1 MacBook pro suddenly died whilst connected to MagSafe then black screen and will not start up, even after calling Apple support but failing to restart - do anyone know the cause of the problem?

I have since returned it to Argos who have sent it for repair since I only had it for about 4 weeks, luckily within the 30-day guarantee.

This is my first Apple laptop.

I am also wondering about the cost to repair since the repair slip does state there may be a cost for parts and is brand new (4 weeks old at the time and awaiting repair). (just wondering if anyone else had similar problems with the M1 MacBook pro)

Thanks

MacBook Pro Apple Silicon

Update: Please be aware that some retailers do not use the Apple list of approved "repair agents" even if they advertise so on their website - I was not aware of that problem, until chasing up my returned Black Screen M1 MacBook from Argos, which would invalidate your Apple warranty.

(having spoken to the very helpful Apple helpline lady to check if the "find my iPhone" have been disabled for repair on the MacBook)

Currently still waiting from Argos to return my macbook....another 4 days after they already had it for over 2 weeks....
