how to turn on enhanced dictation
I use the built in software to dictate on my macBook Air, but after 30 seconds it cuts off. How do I disable that feature so I can dictate for longer amounts of time?
iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

You enable Enhanced Dictation with a simple change in the System Preferences utility. Open the Dictation & Speech pane, and on the Dictation screen, enable Use Enhanced Dictation. Your Mac will proceed to download roughly 800MB of necessary data.

Actually, it has returned. Under the previous MacOSes, we had to turn off Voice Control to get it. Now it is apparently better to turn Voice Control on. After I turned it on, I was able to Show Commands and access other things that were in enhanced dictation.
This suggesting does not work because there is no pane for dictation or anything like that....maybe because of my OS which is Monterey. Can you update/clarify? Thanks.
Durn it, I can't boot into Monterey just now, maybe another helper can step in.
I have lost enhanced dictation, too. Please help.
Good work! :)
Well I can see the dictation pane but there are no options or tabs that look like enhanced dictation. Mostly it just says dictation "on" or "off". What am I missing here??
