I'm trying to buy a mac from the apple online store and pay using my apple id account balance,
but I keep getting the error above,
also contacted a sales specialist, apple support and none gave me a solution they keep asking to wait 24 hours,
I waited and also the same issue kept showing.
what should I do?
Well I was told if I move the balance to Apple Pay, I can make the purchase in store. There is no fix as of right now and the issue has been know by Apple for a few weeks now

Same here. I have my account balance $6 over the total due and get this error. I have tried EVERYTHING. 2 web chats and 4 agents with the 4th hanging up or dropping the call. Been sent to sales, customer service, gift cards department. I can't believe it is this hard to give money to Apple. I suppose they prefer holding it like a bank without paying interest to me. One guy acknowledged this issue and said customer service could fix my account. Customer service had no idea what the guy was talking about. The only reason they are in account balance is the gift cards would not pay correctly either so I tried to redeem and then buy, but stuck with this error without any real Apple acknowledgment. I would take my money elsewhere, but can't really at this point.
Honestly at some point I started to predict to who they are going to transfer me to,
from chat to call to sales to media to support to I don’t know what,
if only there is a way to get the balance I redeemed back,
lesson learned I guess.

I don't think so. I try to checkout each morning and fails every time. I think Apple has to acknowledge this first. I also tweeted to their support without any reply.
Still having this frustrating issue. Cannot take it anymore. Never saving money in account balance again. May call tonight and demand higher level of authority to get this crap taken care of. Grr.
Just a heads up and FYI, I just did my daily attempt at purchasing this MacBook with my account balance and it just went through successfully. I hope the same works for the others.
