Purchasing AppleCare+ for AirPods as a gift

Hi,

There should be an easy way to do this - I purchased some AirPod Pro (Gen 2) for a Christmas gift for someone. I'd like to purchase AppleCare+ to cover these AirPods as well. However, whenever I try to purchase AppleCare+, it wants to register it under my iCloud account. How can I purchase AppleCare+ for someone else (that has a different iCloud account), for a future gift?
