You need to have iOS 16.1 installed on your phone.

You must have deleted the message(s)......after.....you installed iOS 16 on the phone.

Unless you deleted the messages.....after.....you installed iOS 16, the Edit / drop down will not appear. The messages are gone.

Sure, assuming that your phone will support iOS 16.1.

But......installing iOS 16.1 won't help to recover any messages that you have already deleted.
