I have a pair of AirPod pro 2s. Whenever I use compressed air in my shop I get a read bad static feedback and crackling sound in my headphones. If I do the same thing but wear my AirPod pro 1st gen they do not make the static noise. Curious why the 1st gen works but the 2nd gen are making the noise. Defeating the purpose of noise cancelling.
Well, I just had to make a call for repair. Now on to my 3rd pair. I agree these new AirPods Pro 2’s are junk. I enjoy the longer battery life and that’s about it. Sound isn’t any better. The quality is definitely worse in regards to reliability.
Let me know how the repair turns out, but I suspect it won’t fix the issue. I exchanged mine at BestBuy and the the new pair has the same problem.
I have the same exact issue with my AirPods Pro 2, my original AirPods Pro never had this issue. I work around compressed air everyday, and it is very annoying and disappointing.
It is unfortunate. The only thing we can hope for is a firmware update that solves the issue.
I agree. I makes it even worse than not having earbuds in at all. I’m looking forward to knowing how they approach correcting yours.
I noticed that the new 5B59 firmware update was out for every AirPod except Pro gen 2s. No fix yet, but maybe that’s an indication that they’re working on it.
