airpod pro 2 static

I have a pair of AirPod pro 2s. Whenever I use compressed air in my shop I get a read bad static feedback and crackling sound in my headphones. If I do the same thing but wear my AirPod pro 1st gen they do not make the static noise. Curious why the 1st gen works but the 2nd gen are making the noise. Defeating the purpose of noise cancelling.

I have the exact same problem! when I use compressed air in my shop, I get a horrible static/crackling noise while my AirPod Pro 2’s are in noise canceling or transparency mode. They are on the most recent firmware and I’ve reset them several times to no avail. This is pretty disappointing since my 1st generation AirPod Pros don’t have this problem. I feel like I downgraded.

I’ve noticed that the static feedback happens with certain pitches of noise also. I was doing some work around the house, tapping a pry bar with a hammer, and the high-pitched clanking noise caused the static noise also. So, it’s not just the air hitting the headphones, some pitches of noise do it too.

Well, I just had to make a call for repair. Now on to my 3rd pair. I agree these new AirPods Pro 2’s are junk. I enjoy the longer battery life and that’s about it. Sound isn’t any better. The quality is definitely worse in regards to reliability.

Not just me then, static particularly bad on trains, I always use ANC. On my fourth pair, replacements have be due to the shocking battery drain issues yet to be fixed with a firmware update or product recall. The static issue just reinforces my thought that there have been inherent production faults at one of the production sites and these pods are in circulation.
