In Shortcuts on my iPhone, I've set up a notification to alert me when the battery is under 20% and needs charging.
I'd like to do the same for my Apple Watch, but cannot find out how to do this in Shortcuts.

It seems quite odd that such a simple thing like getting the battery level on watch isn’t included in the options in Shortcuts. Mind you, that there isn’t an option to set an alert to recharge Watch battery in the Watch settings is an oversight, or even a way to change from the Low Power alert threshold from 10% to a custom threshold.
I’ve submitted feedback to apple on this but man, this is annoying!

Thanks for your reply but I’ve tried all those. They’re not useful.
I want to have an automation run on my iPhone at certain times to check the Battery level of the Watch. None of those article outline how to do this. Hence asking the community.

Another idea, if you are using iOS 16 on your iPhone, is to use the new Lock Screen widgets to show the Apple Watch battery level. All you would need to do to view, if iPhone isn't locked, is swipe down from the upper center to bring down the Lock Screen into view.
Add widgets to your Lock Screen
You can add widgets to your Lock Screen to get information at a glance—for example, the temperature, battery level, or upcoming calendar events.
1. Touch and hold the Lock Screen until the Customize button appears at the bottom of the screen, then tap Customize.
2. Tap the box below the time to add widgets to your Lock Screen.
3. Tap or drag the widgets you want to add.
If there’s not enough room for a new widget, you can tapto remove a widget and make room for a new one.
