iPhone will not accept iCloud passcode

Recently installed IOS 16. My iPhone XR is rejecting the passcode I’ve used for years. I can’t get in. Restarted phone to no avail. I also have an iPad. Can it communicate with the phone to correct the problem?

At my last sign in attempt it said I has to wait an hour before trying again. Not sure if that’s my last try or what happens at that point. Can the Apple Store fix it?
