How to safely disconnect USB-C to Lightning Cable from Macbook Air 2020

I apologize if this is a silly question but, for me, it takes a bit of effort to disconnect this cable from the mac. Whether Im charging my Macbook Air or syncing my iPhone to my Macbook Air, I feel like I have to wiggle the cable out of the Thunderbolt port which cause my Macbook to move a little bit. Can anyone give any advice as how to safely disconnect the cable from the Mac. I greatly appreciate it

It's not a silly question at all. Believe it or not there are removal force specifications, and your MBA might not be in compliance with them. Normally, the USB-C cable insertion / extraction force is pitifully small so as not to cause the problem you're experiencing.

If that is the iPhone's originally supplied USB-C to Lightning cable, take it, your iPhone, and the Mac to an Apple Store for evaluation. Click Get Support to schedule an appointment.

If it is not the iPhone's originally supplied cable, consider buying a genuine replacement from Apple: Buy USB-C to Lightning Cable (2 m) - Apple
