I updated to IOS 16.1 on my iphone 13 and it freezes up no matter what I am doing. I restart and it takes more than typical time to restart. It then freeezes up again after about 5 min or so and process starts over.

I have an iPhone 13 (not pro) and long story short I took it to Best Buy Geek Squad. The first thing we tried fixed it. Make sure phone is backed up and reset it to factory settings. From there reinstall using the back up you most recently saved. It fixed the issue for me. Must be something wrong with the update to 16.1 that they haven’t had enough complaints about or don’t have a patch worked out for it yet. It was SO frustrating so I’m glad it got fixed.
Updated to 16.2, still having the same issue. Took the phone to the Apple Store and they said it was a hardware issue and that they could fix the problem for about $450! The phone is 58 days beyond warranty, which means this issue started about a month after the warranty expired when I updated to 16.1.1. This is such a joke!
Ugh! You got lucky. The only options they are giving me is to trade my phone for $470. I paid for this in full and $1099 is not cheap. I’m trying to backup my phone for daysand the lag doesn’t help and l’ll try to reset my phone. Hopefully, this will help solve the issue.

Also, this occurs approximately every 20-30 mins. Pretty frustrating, since I’ve barely had this iPhone 13 for just over a year.
