Apple watch function to mute phone calls

How can I use my apple watch to unmute phone calls? I was calling an office that it's really hard to get someone on the line. I muted my phone while waiting, so I could complete other tasks and walked away wearing my apple watch and using my AirPods pro. Then while I was away from my phone, the office I was calling answered, but my iPhone was muted, and I was away from it, so I had to run back to where my iPhone was to unmute it, and by the time I got there and physically unmuted the call on the iPhone screen, the office I was calling, hanged up and then I had to call back and wait another 15-20 minutes on the line to get to someone.

I need to learn how to unmute / mute my iPhone call using my apple watch! What it seems to be a "seamless" and "natural" action has become a burden and an inconvenience. I am sure, someone though of this already, I just can't find how to complete this simple operational task, using either my apple watch or the AirPods pro for what matters.

Hello luis4life,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. You can transfer a phone call from your iPhone to the Apple Watch and have the ability to mute the call as an option.

While you're on a phone call through your iPhone, you'll need to open the Phone app on your Apple Watch > tap on the phone number or the contact's name that appears > tap on the AirPlay icon in the bottom right corner of the Apple Watch. From there, the phone call will appear on your Apple Watch and you'll have the option to select the mute icon as an option.

If needed, here's how the AirPlay icon will appear on the Apple Watch:

Following these steps will help.

Best regards.
