Transfer Music from MacBook to iphone.

I have Apple music but want to transfer Albums not in the Apple Music/itunes library. Is it possible or do I have to give up on Apple music; go back to manually syncing my phone and mac libraries. Already very frustrated after spending hours cleaning up my library on the MacBook only to have it messed up again connecting it back to the "cloud" trying to add missing songs back onto my iphone. (certainly wish syncing = mirroring libraries)!

I download to listen to music offline which of course is not Apple friendly.

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 16

If you read the issue you would know the answer is “yes, I use Apple music” (Very first few words I wrote)

the phrase spending hours “cleaning” (in another word “editing”) up my library. Means I had it edited to the way I wanted it.

the phrase “go back to” manually syncing should have indicated I am familiar with manually syncing. If you are familiar with Apple Music you know in order to download music you have to “sync across all devices”. You should also know that if I want to manually sync I will be forced to disable that function which will result in all my music being deleted and I will have to start all over again. I am here trying not to do that because(believe it or not) I do not have easy access to high speed data nor do I have unlimited high speed data. Between cleaning up my music library and getting the new phone I have done it twice this year.

My problem is that “sync across devices” does not actually “reflect” the library on my MacBook. While the annoyance of splitting up a couple various artist albums into separate albums is bad enough.

my main problem is still the ability to sync all the music in my MacBook library to my phone.

my phone recognizes all the music from my MacBook but does not transfer the music that is not in “Apple Music’s” data base(for lack of better words) cds I have that you cannot find if searched in Apple Music. They are on my computer in with Apple Music, but will not transfer to the phone. The phone “reflects” the name but the audio does not transfer.

not sure how many different ways to explain to get my point across. Just thought the simple question: is there a way to transfer all my music from the Apple Music on my MacBook to Apple Music on my iPhone?

the only audio not being downloaded is audio not in the Apple library servers?(again for lack of better words)

Hello, bradley277,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you use Apple Music and want to be able to edit the library on your Mac and have those changes reflected on your other devices. If this is not correct, please provide more details on what you need to accomplish.

If this is correct, the content can sync automatically to all other devices using that Apple ID by using “Sync Library”.

On the Mac, this can be done by opening Music then clicking on “Music” in the top right corner. From there, click on “Preferences”. On the General tab, you will see the option to sync the library.

To do this on the iPhone, go to Settings > Music. You will see the option to “Sync Library” about half way down the screen.

If you would prefer to manually sync the library, you will turn these options off. You can learn more about that here: Sync music between your Mac and iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Kindest regards.
