Apple TV+ without credit card?

A couple of months ago I bought a new iPod Touch and when I activated it, it offered me 3 months of free Apple TV+.

I wanted to start the 3 months just now but the website (it's on tv.apple.com, so no, it's not a scam) is asking for a credit card. I don't own, need nor want a credit card and I can't use my debit card of course.

How do I start the 3 months without a credit card?

iPod, iOS 14

You cannot start the free trial on the website without a credit card. It is required for verification purposes. There is no way around this.

You can start the free trial directly on the iPod, and it should not require the credit card there.

The offer for the extended free trial should be redeemed within the first 90 days. Don’t wait too long.

The offer for the extended free trial should be redeemed on your new eligible device, not on a different device. Find the “Enjoy 3 Months Free” redeem button in the TV app.

Starting any subscription, including free trials, requires linking a pre-authorized payment method to your account, that supports automatic and periodical charges. Enough account balance on your Apple ID account, is a suitable alternative.

Where can I find that button on my new iPod? In the Apple TV app, right at the top in the "Originals" section there's a big thing for a 7 day trial but I don't see anything about 3 months. I only noticed that offer because I got an e-mail about it and haven't used the Apple TV app before

I checked, there's some money in my account, I charged it with one of those iTunes cards a while ago.

As I said, I don't own a CC and a lot of other people don't either, so that can't be it.
How do I do that on my iPod? It doesn't offer me a 3 month trial in the Apple TV app but only 7 days.

Make sure it has not been more than 90 days since you bought the iPod, otherwise you would no longer be eligible for the offer.

It should appear directly in the TV app when you open it. If its not, you may no longer be eligible for it.

I bought the iPod a while ago but didn't actually open the box until much later (including syncing with iTunes and logging into my Apple ID with it), which was probably around 2 months ago. I got the latest e-mail about the trial less than 2 weeks ago, so it should still be there.

I already tried calling support about it but they're completely useless (not my first experience like that) and the last person I talked to just hung up after 2 hours!

iPod

iPod Touch was officially discontinued on May 10, 2022 (5 months, 25 days ago). That may have something to do with it. The Terms and Conditions (which devices are eligible) have changed between then and now.

Weird, but user choice. Apple has on record to the second when it was first activated, though. And which store it was from. They don’t need your story for that. But it may not matter because of the above.

I can only guess about that conversation, but … You saying what you want, and them applying their terms and conditions is different from being useless. If no conclusion was reached after 2 hours (!), then you were probably be going in circles for a while, and then probably no solution can be reached at any length. They’re the ones to convince, no-one else.
