MacBook Pro has spot lights on the bottom of the screen

I brought my MacBook into Apple for this issue and was told this is a known issue but I’m out of the timeframe to fix it. I don’t understand if this is a known issue why is there a timeframe to correct the issue. I was never notified of this issue. Apple has my contact information and my MacBook is registered. Now I am out of a laptop and will have to spend another $2000 for a new one. I have always believed Apple had great products and backs up their products. However, I lost faith in Apple. The damages are not my fault. This was completely Apples fault changing to this “Flex tape” and not testing it correctly. Once Apple new this issue, product owners should have been notified. Like recall with cars.

I’m very disappointed with Apple and want to know why this can’t be fixed by Apple.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.5

Apple's free repair programs have always operated this way with no notification to the registered owner and no public news announcements. The only time Apple contacts registered owners is when they have a product safety recall such as the one for some of the MBPro 15" (2015) models (I don't believe the recall has any deadlines as long as the product is still supported and parts are available -- a 2015 model is now "Vintage"). Keep in mind the product safety recall is different than the standard free repair programs. Product safety recalls are quite rare from Apple, but free repair programs are not rare).

FYI, you can find the current list of the publicly acknowledged free repair programs for various Apple products (some products have multiple programs --- there is only one actual Recall listed):

Apple Service Programs - Apple Support

You can leave Apple with product feedback here (Apple won't respond):

You can also contact Apple corporate (Apple may respond):
