tethering ipad to mobile hotspot android

constantly problems to tether my ipad pro with my android phone (samsung note)

sometimes it works - sometimes not - sometimes it works for 5 min. - sometimes hours ... (no problems at all to tether my macbook pro)

the hotspot is found by the ipad - but mostly (not always) it says "connection to network failed" ... there is no reliable connection possible (except bluetooth - tooo slooow)

does anyone have any idea what to do??

Multiple reports have been seen within the Apple Support Communities - and external media sources - complaining of issues with some iPad and iPhone models inexplicably dropping their WiFi connections. As you are presumably connecting to a WiFi hotspot, you are perhaps affected by this issue - for which a software fix is awaited.

You might be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at bottom-left of this page.

Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed on your iPad, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

To save power, your iPad will automatically drop its tether connection to the hotspot whenever the iPad “sleeps” due to inactivity. Whether or not the iPad will be able to successfully re-establish its link with the hotspot, without manual intervention, will be heavily influenced by (a) the device hosting the hotspot connection - and (b) your iPad settings.

The former you’ll need to research yourself - seeking assistance from the device manufacturer.

As for your iPad settings, check that you have enabled Auto-Join Hotspot:

Settings > WiFi > Auto-Join Hotspot - set to Automatic
