How to fix function key shortcuts in Pages?

The other day my function key shortcuts stopped working across all my devices (iMac, MacBook Air) and in all my documents in Pages. I've tried removing the shortcuts and reassigning them and holding down the function key before pressing my shortcuts but neither of those has worked. Has this happened to anyone else/how did you fix it?
