SSK External disc enclosure no longer visible on Mac Studio

I have just moved to anew MacStudio and am now trying reuse an external disc for a backup.

However the disc is not visible at all in Disk Utility.

It IS visible on my 2015 MacBook Pro.

I have tried :-

o Reformatting the drive via the macbook pro (to APFS GUID).

o Replaced the USBC-External drive form cable

o Tried direct to old style usb socket via an adapter, direct USBC into front USB socket. USBC plug into (usb style ) TB4 socket.

o Tried rebooting

o Tried boot to recovery mode.

o Tried another disk in the enclosure.

Note other USB drives are working ok. A 2TB ssd and and old USB to SATA adapter into a 2.5" drive.

None of the above made the drive visible.

Im 99% sure it worked before Monterey 12.6.1. (ie on the original 12.6). As I used into restore some files.

Any suggestions?
