Hello chaz144,

Pair AirPods with an Apple device - Apple Support

There are several things you can try to connect your AirPods. But first, make sure that you have the latest version of Apple Software, that being macOS Ventura (Mac), iPadOS 16 or iOS 16 (iPhone and iPod Touch). Please check out this link:

If your AirPods won't connect - Apple Support

Basically, after you make sure that you have bluetooth turned on, do this:

  1. Place your AirPods in the charging case that came with them and open the lid.
  2. Open Bluetooth in System Settings (Mac) or Settings (iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch)
  3. If you see your device is listed in My Devices list or Nearby Devices, then click Connect, a button that should be listed next to the device.
  4. If you do not see your device in Bluetooth, then place your AirPods next to your device; close the lid of your AirPods for 15 seconds and then reopen it. Then, press your finger on the round button found on the back of the case. Hold this button for about 10 seconds until a white light begins to flash on the front of the case.

Finally, check Bluetooth again to see if they are listed there, if not, you will have to reset your AirPods:

Please note the software requirements listed for your AirPods. Depending on which model they are, you might not need the latest version of macOS, iPadOS or iOS, so check this out:

I hope this helps. Have a nice day.
