How do I play a CD in my external Apple Super-Drive on my Macbook Pro (OS Monterey 12.6)?

since yours is the apple superdrive, then with the drive connected to your Mac, you can go into System Preferences > CDs & DVDs

and make sure that "Open Music" is selected for the "When you insert a music CD:" option.
