IOS 16.1 Broke Siri??

I'm really confused by my phone's operation with Siri.

It all started this week.

While wearing my PowerBeats and listening to Music, I could realiably say "Hey Siri skip ahead 30 seconds" and the song would skip ahead 30 seconds.

Now, it doesn't respond when I am wearing my Powerbeats at all and I have to yell to get it to respond when listening to Music without earbuds and even then I have to try 2 or 3 times to get a response. I'm keeping the volume low, so that's not the problem.

I've rebooted my phone. Worked with Apple Support and tried all of the "If Siri isn't working" support pages.

I've restarted my PowerBeats. Hard reset my PowerBeats.

I've even reset the data on my iPhone

Oddly, I'm seeing something I have never noticed before. After getting Siri to respond, it brings ip a mini window of Music OVER my Music app and the Siri bubble shrinks in size like it is still active, but it isn't responsive like this. Photo attached.

Did something fail in my phone?

Does 16.1 have a bug?

Thoughts?

This photo is taken immediately after Siri skips ahead 30 seconds, per command.

Despite the slowly animated Siri bubble, Siri is NOT listening, This screen will not change before the 30 second screen sleep activates. It WILL go away, along with th Music app bubble over the Music app, if I tap the screen.

I can say "Hey Siri" and issue more commands, which will replace the smaller Siri bubble with the normal sized Siri bubble at the bottom. Again, have to yell to get Siri to activate.

Update 2

The breakdown in Siri appears to be with Beats headphones using the H1 chip, possibly others. After hours on the phone with multiple tech support agents, I managed to learn that this has been reported frequently, though with few details.

So:

I can activate Siri normally when not using my PowerBeats.

But once I start playing music on Apple's Music app through the phone's built-in speakers, Siri becomes unresponsive.

I have access to a second pair of PowerBeats and it makes no difference. In fact, the second pair was using an older firmware, so I can confirm that it is not the latest Beats firmware as well.

I can activate Siri normally when using generic earbuds...

...and I can issue commands over and over again including skip and other commands while listening to Music.

Things i have done to fix this:

Power cycled iPhone (many times)

Reviewed and toggled virtually Siri setting with Apple Support.

Reconfigured Siri (many times)

Reset iPhone Settings

Full restore of iPhone

Power cycled PowerBeats

Unpaired and re-paired PowerBeats

Hard reset of PowerBeats

Firmware update of PowerBeats (secondary pair)

The last Apple Support rep agreed that it was most likely a bug in 16.1

The 16.1.1 update has not fixed the issue.

Update. I own an iPad and Apple Watch. I think there is some conflict happening there.

Took a walk and, while listening to Music, Siri worked.

Came home and Siri stopped responding.

Opened my iPad and noticed that Siri would flash on my ipad, though I was still listening to Music on my iPhone with my PowerBeats. Had watch on but it wasn't paired to my iPhone for some reason.

Turned off iPad, but still no Siri on iPhone when at home..

Difference? On my wifi network?
