Free Applt tv+ for one year

If I get Apple TV with my new iPhone for one year why does it say start a free three month subscription when I sign in

iPhone 11 Pro Max, iOS 15

The free year offer hasn't been available since June 301, 2021. The current offer is for 3 months.

Apple originally offered a year of free subscription to Apple TV+ but this was reduced to three months in the middle of 2021.

Even the full price of a subscription is inexpensive at US$6.99 per month.
