Delete key automatically deletes space after the final letter with just one delete button press.

Sometimes when I'm typing, I need to delete an incorrect first letter to a word I'm trying to type, but when I go ahead and press the delete key once, something like this happens: "Today I woke up tired, hoping toarrive earlier thananticipated...". As you can see, the issue is not that the delete key receives the input twice, because this never happens when I delete a letter within a word, but rather when there is a space between the previously typed word and the incorrect letter I am trying to delete. I also tried some recommendations relating to "sticky keys", that are: 1. Turning Key repeat, in keyboard settings, off. 2. Keep delay before repeat, in the same settings, as "long". And 3. Uninstalling any keyboard software.

So, as you can see, this can get really annoying real fast, when trying to type for long periods of time.

I've got a 14" Macbook pro, that is only 4 months new.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One way to get the behavior you describe:

It's as if you pressed the delete key more than once.

The issue might be that you need to adjust settings in:

system preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard

try some combination of:

lengthening delay until repeat and/or

shortening key repeat rate

if this is the source of the issue, the symptoms should change, and additional fiddling may fix it.

My bad, I guessed it made sense.

To reiterate, sometimes when I am typing and I start with a wrong letter of a word I am starting to type, for example: I meant to type the letter "E" but instead pressed "R", to write the word "Example", what ends up happening is the following: 1. I type "For r". 2. Delete the "R", for I meant to type "E". 3. And the cursor, instead of deleting just the "R" and leaving a space between the cursor and the word "For", it ends up just at the end of that word, "For". 4. So what ends up happening, because I am typing fast, is that I start typing right away, without pressing the Space bar, the result is the following: "Forexample".

If I were typing lone words this would not be a problem, but since I am at university, writing essays becomes a tedious task.

Also, I might suspect this issue is isolated in Safari, since I realize that it does not occur in other apps.

I hope, now it makes more sense.

Cheers.
