There are two restores.

  1. Restore to factory settings, (you will have the option to retain eSIM Data Plan before erase begins):- Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple ...
  2. Restore from a backup (Your eSIM will remain as it was even after the restore):- Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup ...

Thanks for your quick response. I’m using iPhone 12 with eSIM enabled. And taken a full backup.


now I’m going to replace the iPhone to new iPhone and want to restore it from the backup along with eSIM from an old device.


can I achieve this without calling to carrier? As it’s very complicated process again to get the QR code and talking with carrier.
