Refund timing after returning an iPhone in store?

I purchased an iPhone and had to physically return it to the store. They issued a refund back to my original payment method but after 48 hours the money has not refunded to my bank account.

apple took the payment immediately why has the money not been refunded immediately? How long will it take?
