How to force my mac to the 5.0ghz when using single wifi bandwidth

My provider is Bell and I am using the Home Hub 4000. I had the option "Whole Home Wi-Fi :

Let the Home Hub optimize Wi-Fi throughout your home". When I looked at what bandwidth it said my mac was connected as pod (which I'm not entirely sure what it is) so I decided to disable whole home wi-fi option and it now says it is connected as 2.4ghz. The WI-FI only use 1 bandwidth so it shares 5ghz and 2.4ghz. It usually always goes to 5ghz unless the device can't take it so it goes to 2.4ghz. How can I force my Mac to take 5ghz? Thank you very much.

Turn off the 2.4GHz on your router. Maybe you can change the wireless signal of the 2.4GHz on the router so it is not as strong so the 5GHz signal becomes the dominate one. If the router doesn't have any acceptable settings, then purchase one which has more configuration options.

If you give the 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands different SSIDs on the router, then you can configure macOS to connect to just the one SSID, or maybe prioritize the one SSID over the other one.

I cannot turn off 2.4ghz as some devices like my old laptop that my dad currently use can only access 2.4ghz or google home mini which can only take 2.4ghz as smart bulbs. I could most likely separate both bandwidth but I would need to re-connect all the google home mini and smart bulbs which would be long and painful.
