YouTube video shortcuts not working in Safari (Mojave)

Hi,

for example

shift + > = speed up = works

< = slow down = doesn't work

, . = 1 frame forward/ backward = doesn't work

key arrow up/down = volume = doesn't work most of the time = behavior like arrow keys left/right which is skip by 10seconds.

YouTube videos stuttering in full-screen on Safari for Mac I had an issue where YouTube videos would stutter in full-screen, however if I moved the mouse cursor or kept the playback controls showing, videos would play fine. video playback skips a few minutes when user doesn't interact with paused player in Safari Whenever I pause the video and go to another tab, when I go back to the video and click play, it will skip several minutes ahead, if not more than a dozen depending on how long I leave it “paused". This happens only in Safari (using the latest build released with MacOS Ventura) when I playback videos on Crunchyroll, Udemy or Platzi video players. This issue comes from a few safari versions ago (I can reproduce this issue since Safari 14) Steps to reproduce: Play any video for a minute and pause Open a new tab, wait 5-20 minutes Go back to the tab with video Click play Expected result: Video starts to play from the timestamp where it was paused Actual result: Video starts to play from wrong timestamp (where you pause + time you was absent). Noting that if you use Chrome or Firefox user agent within Safari, video players of mentioned websites works as expected.

autoplay turn off doesn't work No Autoplay settings are in place in Safari and on You tube but video still autoplays. In Safari (17), Settings-Websites-Autoplay is set as NEVER AUTOPLAY. On Youtube page, setting is AUTOPLAY OFF. And yet, the videos are autoplaying. Running Sonoma 14 for awhile on my MacBook Air 13. Nothing new updated to cause this sudden change. Bug? Thanks!
