No PIN while navigation is running

On Android, if I have Google Maps running navigation, I can press the power button and maps will display. If I want to do anything else, I have to unlock.

With the iPhone, I have to manually enter my pin or pull the phone out of the dash mount and face unlock. Is there a way that I don’t have drive and fumble with my phone to unlock?
