I only use i cloud for messages and backups but even after deleting tons of stuff it says iCloud’s full

If you're receiving an error about your iCloud storage, you'll want to verify how much storage is actually showing as being taken. This page can help with checking your iCloud storage online or on any device: Check your iCloud storage online or on any device - Apple Support.

If you use other Apple devices, you may want to consider if you have iCloud enabled on the other devices. If so, Messages (and other data) will sync to iCloud if the device is using the same Apple ID. You can find out more information here: Keep your messages up to date with iCloud - Apple Support.

If you see that iCloud storage space is full, you'll want to delete data saved in iCloud to help with managing iCloud storage space.
