Big Sur incomparable with Sketchup Pro 2016

I've been using my Macbook Air 2015 and I resist upgrades as much as possible because of issues like this... I was forced to upgrade to OS Big Sur, and now my Sketchup Pro 2016 app displays all dimension text upside down and backwards. I have seen this question repeatedly buy no solutions other than "upgrade to latest version of Sketchup". No thank you, I like the lowest cost solution. Are there any other solutions?

One of the factors that we always counsel others about is checking existing application support and compatibility with the third-party application vendor before upgrading an operating system. Now, you find that SketchUP Pro 2016 has issues with Big Sur. Well, Trimble has moved on and the current release of SketchUP Pro is only supported on Catalina, Big Sur, and Monterey.

If you did not perform a Time Machine backup on the prior operating system before Big Sur, and not reuse that drive for Time Machine on Big Sur, then you have no realistic plan for retreat to the prior operating system where SketchUP Pro 2016 worked, and your options for SketchUP on Big Sur are upgrade, or idle.
