I don’t receive the ask to buy premission when my child would like to get an app. Ask to buy is on. What should I fix to get the permission requests?

Hello Ask_to_buy,


Were you able to complete the steps in the guide you recently viewed for "If Ask to Buy isn't working"? Specifically the steps under "If your Ask to Buy requests are missing". Here's that link, just in case: If Ask to Buy isn't working - Apple Support


In addition to those steps, make sure that Do Not Disturb or a focus isn't turned on. Here's more information: Use Do Not Disturb with Focus on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support


If the behavior continues, be sure you're signed in with the correct Apple ID in Settings > your name > Media & Purchases. Then toggle the Ask to Buy feature off, restart your iPhone, then turn the feature back on to see if fresh connections help:


  1. Tap Settings > your name > Family Sharing > Ask to Buy to locate your family member to turn off Ask to Buy.
  2. Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
  3. Turn the Ask to Buy feature back on.
