IPad Air 5 apple care

So I purchased my iPad Air 5 earlier this year (in march) and I never bought apple care, well I am now second guessing this decision months after. The iPad is in perfect condition, I am just paranoid about dropping it. I have seen multiple articles online saying that if I go into the store I can buy apple care even though it is outside of the 60 day window? Is this true?? Thought I’d ask before going to a store.
