how to view elevation GAIN on running activity summary

I use my apple watch to go on a run and record it with the fitness app. On the workout view i added elevation gain.

after the run i look on my iPhone to view the summary of the activity and the elevation gain is not present, only elevation max and min.

How can i add the elevation gain to the phone summary of the activity?

ANSWER: I contacted support and the conclusion was that the elevation gain was not appearing in the summary because the Compass App had been deleted at some point. It was resolved by downloading the Apple Compass App, verifying the app could use location services in privacy settings, unpairing the watch, pairing the watch, verifying in the watch app that fitness tracking was on in the watch’s privacy settings. I tested it with a new run and it now shows the elevation gain in the summary going forward.

Hello SneoxlazbMksisn,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

This may be helpful:

Hiking
Choose Hiking to track pace, distance, elevation gain, and calories burned. You can see how high you’ve climbed in real time during the workout, and total elevation gain at the end of your workout.
Apple Watch Series 3 or later has a built-in altimeter to calculate and display your elevation, so you don't need to bring your iPhone along when you work out. For Apple Watch Series 2 or earlier, bring your iPhone along to track your elevation.

More details can be found here: Workout types on Apple Watch

It appears it may be visible for hiking. It doesn't appear to be mentioned for running.

Are you able to test with hiking to verify if it appears?

Cheers!
