Can I reset locked Watches?

My father passed away and has no trust or will. When he passed he was living with me and I have all of his Apple Watches. They are all locked and I am his daughter. Can I ever reset the watches and use them?

..Mil0618..

The State Court may have to be asked if they could Appoint you as legal representative.

And in usual circumstances, there would be others involved, they could defer this duty in

the Court. ~Quite often without any paper trail. This may include long hours of study; and

extensive use of your state's Self-Help legal site pages. I know; spent a ton of effort here.

{Those pages refer to Probate, self-help; and longer term issues, of filing papers in Court.}

..Been there. ~ Perhaps you're better off not having been awarded Appointment after all..

As deggie points out, you don't need to know his passwords or pins. The point of the article is to tell you what documents (such as a death certificate and likely something from the estate, granting you ownership rights. And if by chance you can find the original purchase receipt, that would make it simple for Apple to unlock the devices for you to use. But you have to work with Apple directly on this. i have contacted apple. He had no estate he passed unexpectedly. I have his death certificates and all his possessions that’s it . These watches aren’t new. They are all series 3 watches all pin locked. Google gave me a hard time too about unlocking the phone I had bought him.my phone provider made me pay it off and because it’s locked by a pin I can never access it or use it.

They asked for court documents that would say whose handling his affairs. I did explain to them he passed unexpectedly and left no one to handle anything and had no estate. I only have his death certificate. I am going to reach out to apple care again. All I was trying to do was have the devices factory reset.

When someone passes away, there has to be someone other than you who is handling the estate (a term used to describe a deceased person accounts and finances - such as checking, savings, loans, mortgage, rent)? You really should enlist the help of an attorney to help you. For the phone, if you bought it, you should have the original purchase receipt for the phone? If you do, Apple will unlock the phone with the original purchase receipt, which shows the phone's serial number on it.
