The thing to note is that you will not be able to set a future date for pickup. You will be able to set a pick up date within 24 hours and this only works if the iPhone 14 Pro Max is in that particular Apple Store’s inventory at the time of placing the order.

I am assuming that you were unable to select a local store for pickup. This is because the local store does not have the inventory of the iPhone model that you have selected.
