why is my messages name and apple id name different?

My apple id and messages id are different. How is that possible?

Sign in to Messages with different email I had to reset my Apple ID so now Messages changed to my new email so I can’t sent or receive any more. If you used a different AppleID to sign in with the messaging app, then it will reflect that AppleID. You sign into iCloud with one Appleid, but sign into messages with another and they will be different.
