Based on Personal Experience:

Having gone into the Apple Store the other day, I am told that if a cover is adhered to the device that is removable, and you have AppleCare+, then they will work on it, And they said that if you applied liquid to it (i.e. Liquid Nano or Liquid Armor), then all would be canceled on your AppleCare+. The associate had to ask the manager for verification on this,
