Does ipad offer split view or is it just for ipad pro?
I will be a first time apple user when I buy a iPad for school. I wanted to know if a standard iPad 2021 or 2022 will have split view or do I need to get a iPad pro 2021 or 2022?

Many older models of iPad support Slide-over, but not Split View.
While I don’t recall the precise transition point for iPad models that don’t support full multitasking, any iPad model that supports iPadOS15 or later will fully support all multitasking features of iPadOS.
Be aware that the new iPadOS16 Stage Manager feature, that provides additional multitasking and windowing, is only available for these models of iPad:
Feature availability is usually limited by system hardware - CPU and available RAM being critical to some advanced functionality. Models supporting Stage Manager have an M2, M1 or A12X CPU (upon which the M-series CPUs are reportedly based) - with at least 8GB RAM.

I believe any iPad will do split view. I have an iPad mini, which is not a pro model.. split view works just fine.
