Images on my website not showing in safari but showing in chrome, firefox

November 2022

This isn't actually a question but an answer.

I have not been able to see the parent pictures on my wordpress website for some time.

It was only Safari which was causing the problem, all other web browsers worked fine.

I have now found the answer and tested it on my 5 iMacs in the office - and it now works on all of them.

The answer was found in the Develop menu of Safari.

If you don't see the Develop menu in the Safari preferences, open Safari preferences and then the advanced tab.

At the bottom of the advanced tab there is a tick box for 'Show Develop Menu in Menu bar'

This will add the Develop drop-down in the menu bar.

In the Develop menu is a section called Experimental Features.

In the drop down of Experimental Features is 'Lazy Image Loading'

I believe this it ticked by default.

Click it off and then restart Safari.

This cured my problem.
